Its all about the blues

We practice organic farming principles and have several varieties of blueberries that ripen at different times throughout the season. Harvest time is typically late November to February. Our blueberries are for sale during the harvest season, just drop by our farm gate.

We do not offer pick-your-own but are happy to provide short tasting tours of the various varieties by appointment only.

Fresh Blueberries available from Nov to Feb.

Grow your owN!

Our vegetable garden provides us with year-round seasonal fruit and veg. Through trial and error, we learn what grows best. We try to focus on heirloom and interesting varieties of vegetables to entice our tastebuds. Some of our favourite fruit and veg include tomatoes, eggplants, pumpkins, carrots and garlic. Our tomatoes are always a great asset for preserving and eating through winter. We particularly love making kasundi, sugo and passata.

Our jams and preserves are available for sale at our farm gate kitchen & store including blueberry jam, blueberry chutney, tamatar kasundi, preserved olives and more. Our delicious blueberries are the star ingredient for our cafe and are included in crepes, ice cream, tarts and much more.  We are always experimenting with berry recipes and love to share our creations with our visitors. It's been a busy season with lots of experimentation using new ingredients. There were successes and failures with plenty of learning along the way.

Without the wonderful assistance from the Willing Workers on Organic Farms (WWOOF) movement, farming at Blue Tongue Berries would be much harder and no where near as much fun! We've been a Wwoof host since 2011 and have loved meeting people from all around the world and sharing our stories.

If you are interested in visiting Blue Tongue Berries and wish to work on our farm as a Wwoofer, please go to the WWOOF website to become a member. Further details about wwoofing at BTB can be found here.
