Our vegetable garden provides us with year-round seasonal fruit and veg. Through trial and error, we learn what grows best. We try to focus on heirloom and interesting varieties of vegetables to entice our tastebuds. Some of our favourite large crops have included tomatoes, pumpkins, leek and garlic. Our tomatoes and pumpkins have been a great asset for preserving and eating through winter. We particularly love making kasundi, sumo, pasta and pumpkin chutney. In Autumn of 2012 we decided to plant a small crop of 200 purple Australian garlic. We then saved every garlic bulb we grew and the following season produced 3,000 garlic. The next season we were able to grow over 10,000 bulbs of garlic.
